At a recent webinar, representatives from Regional Centers that were among the first selected for audits shared their experiences and advice for those that come after them.
With the announcement in April that United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) would be commencing with the Regional Center audits mandated by the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 (RIA), industry stakeholders were eager to find out just how the audit process would go, what would be required, and what interactions with auditors would be like.
To find out, JTC and Invest In the USA (IIUSA) spoke to some of the first people to go through a USCIS audit. On July 10th, 2024, JTC and IIUSA co-sponsored “Regional Center Audits: What Should You Do To Prepare?”
Moderated by JTC’s Jill Jones, the online event featured representatives from Regional Centers that had already been selected for audits. They compared notes about what was asked of them, how long they had to respond to requests, the kinds of questions posed at in-person audit meetings, and more.
The webinar is available to watch online, so if you’d like to hear about Regional Center audits from some of the first to experience them, you can watch the full recording from IIUSA.
