JTC’s offices in Ireland are now licensed for administration of U.S.-based funds alongside existing AIFM and depositary services. What does this mean for your international fundraising options?
When US-based private equity firms look to expand their operations abroad, there are many jurisdictions to choose from, and the choice of domicile affects everything from where you can fundraise to taxes to regulatory issues and ESG standards. As the third largest fund center in the world, Ireland is perfectly situated to support US fund managers.
Because it has tax treaties with both the US and EU, Ireland boasts a particularly strong relationship with both the European and American financial communities. The country also has a reputation for regulatory supervision that can provide peace of mind for investors, and its investment framework is compatible with the EU’s Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD).
Beyond its regulatory and legal benefits, Ireland also has the advantage of being the only English-speaking country in the EU with the Euro as its currency. That means it can offer US-based fund managers a business environment featuring culture and communication that matches what they’re used to.
JTC has obtained license to provide fund administration services in Ireland, complementing existing Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM), depositary, and corporate solutions offered by JTC’s offices in Dublin and Enniscorthy.
Fund administration services will include fund accounting, transfer agency, AML, FATCA/CRS and the preparation of fund financials with audit support. Thanks to JTC’s established presence and strong network, those who have never raised or deployed capital abroad will find Ireland a welcoming environment where they can take advantage of our team’s wealth of experience.
