Jim joined JTC in August 2023 following the acquisition of South Dakota Trust Company (SDTC) and was appointed as Regional Co-Head for JTC USA – Private Client Services in July 2024.

Highlights

In his role, Jim is responsible for the business growth of the region to enable JTC to achieve its US growth ambitions, while continuing to deliver excellent standards of service across the trust, client, and private trust company services in Delaware, South Dakota and Wyoming.

Jim also continues his role at SDTC as President and Executive Managing Director, where he oversees the team who are responsible for client engagement, business development and trust planning support, and he serves on the Board of Directors of SDTC LLC.

Jim started his career as a Trust & Estates Attorney at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker. Prior to joining SDTC, he was Vice President, Trust and Estate Director at Citigroup, where he provided technical estate and charitable planning assistance to clients and their advisors, following his role as the North East Planning Director for Smith Barney (now known as Morgan Stanley).

In their spare time

Jim enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two children; skiing, fishing and going to the beach.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, State University of New York at Albany
Juris Doctorate, St. John’s University School of Law
LLM in Taxation from New York University
TEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners)
Admitted to the State Bar of New York and New Jersey, Member of the New York State Bar
Served as Corporate Counsel Liaison Officer to the Individual Tax & Private Client Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA)
